Refund Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
InputTrail has a 50-hour free trial, so you can try it fully before you pay. If you do subscribe and change your mind, this policy explains how refunds work. It does not limit the rights you have as a consumer under the law.
1. Refund eligibility and window
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first Pro subscription payment. If you are not happy with InputTrail, contact us within 30 days of that first charge and we will give you a full refund of it. This voluntary guarantee is available once per customer and is in addition to your statutory rights (see section 6).
After the 30-day window, the current billing period is not refundable, but you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals (see section 5). Renewal charges are not covered by the voluntary guarantee, except where applicable consumer law requires a refund. If you are charged for a renewal you meant to cancel, contact us and we will try to put it right.
2. Free trial
InputTrail includes the first 50 hours of automatic hour tracking free. Once those hours are used, InputTrail stops tracking new watching until you subscribe, and everything tracked before stays visible. The videos themselves are free, publicly available YouTube videos and stay free to watch whether or not you subscribe. The trial is free, so there is nothing to refund for it. There is nothing to cancel either: we take no payment details for the free hours, so you are charged only if you complete a checkout yourself. The 30-day refund window in section 1 starts at your first paid charge, not when the trial begins. When a paid subscription starts, Paddle sends you an order confirmation.
3. How to request a refund
Email us at hello@inputtrail.com from the address on your account, and include your order number or the order confirmation email. We assess each request against this policy; the refund itself is issued by Paddle to your original payment method. Approved refunds are normally processed within 14 days.
Refunds include any VAT or sales tax that was charged on the original transaction, so you receive the full inclusive amount of the eligible portion. Refunds are issued in the original transaction currency for the original amount, so you carry no foreign-exchange cost from the refund itself. If your bank applies its own exchange rate or fees, that is between you and your bank.
4. Payments and Merchant of Record
Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as Merchant of Record for all orders. The specific Paddle entity is shown at checkout and on your order confirmation. Paddle issues refunds to the original payment method on our behalf. You may also contact Paddle directly at paddle.com/help.
5. Auto-renewal and cancellation
The Pro subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel yourself from your account page at any time: sign in, open your account page, and choose "Cancel subscription". You can also cancel by emailing us at hello@inputtrail.com. Cancellation stops future charges; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. A refund works differently: if we refund a payment, the paid features stop as soon as the refund is raised, rather than running to the end of the period. The videos stay free to watch either way. Cancellation and billing are also described in our Terms of Service.
The cancellation described in this section has one narrow exception: in the 30 minutes immediately before a renewal, our payment provider locks the subscription and does not accept a cancellation, so a cancellation made in that window, online or by email, cannot stop that renewal. If this happens to you, try again after the renewal. Your cancellation then takes effect at the end of the new billing period. If you are charged for a renewal you meant to cancel, contact us and we will try to put it right (see section 1).
Deleting your account is different from cancelling. A subscription that renews must be cancelled before the account can be deleted. Deleting your account then ends your paid access at once, and the rest of the paid period is forfeited and not refunded, except under the 30-day money-back guarantee in section 1 or where the law requires a refund. If you want such a refund, ask for it before you delete your account.
6. Your rights as a consumer
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases of digital content and services. Because InputTrail is a digital service, the following applies to that right:
- Access to the paid service starts as soon as Paddle confirms your payment.
- Checkout does not ask you to request that immediate start, and does not collect your acknowledgment that doing so costs you your withdrawal right, so the waiver in Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (and equivalent UK regulations) does not apply. Your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies in full to every purchase, including after the paid service has started.
- Paddle sends you an order confirmation for the purchase, which serves as confirmation of the contract on a durable medium under Article 8(7) of the Directive.
Consumers in the United Kingdom have equivalent rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
The voluntary refund described in this policy is in addition to and does not limit your mandatory rights as a consumer under applicable law, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and equivalent consumer protection laws in your country or state. Where statutory rights give you a stronger or longer remedy than this policy, the statutory remedy applies.
7. Refund abuse
We reserve the right to refuse refund requests where there is objective evidence of abuse, including repeated refund requests across multiple accounts associated with the same person or payment method, or fraudulent payment activity. Statutory consumer rights are not affected by this clause.
8. Chargebacks
If you file a chargeback with your bank before contacting us, the paid features stop as soon as the chargeback is raised, while the dispute is investigated. Your account and your recorded hours are not deleted, and the videos stay free to watch. Please contact us first at hello@inputtrail.com so we can try to resolve the issue directly, which is usually faster.
9. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a refund request, you may have additional options under your local consumer protection laws:
- If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you can use the European Commission's directory of consumer dispute resolution bodies at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu to find a body in your country.
- If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you can contact your local Citizens Advice service or the relevant alternative dispute resolution scheme.
- If you are a consumer in the United States, you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov or with your state attorney general.
- If you are in another jurisdiction, please contact your national consumer protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. We will communicate material changes by email or a prominent notice on the site before they take effect.
